Relevancy
Use algorithms to decide which ads appear in each slot.
Introduction
Ad relevancy is the practice of ensuring that the ads displayed on your website are relevant to the user's context. This can be done by selecting an algorithm that fits the ad location, and by configuring slots to promote content that is relevant to the user's context.
Slot Setup
When setting up your slot configuration, you can specify the type of content that you want to promote in that slot. This allows you to promote content that is relevant to the user's context.
Algorithms
The default algorithm for a slot is to promote the highest bidding content. This is a good default for most slots, but you can also choose from a variety of other algorithms, such as:
- Highest Clicks - Promoting the content with the highest click-through rate
- Highest Conversions - Promoting the content with the highest conversion rate
- Price - Promoting the content with the highest/lowest price
- Random - Promoting content at random
If you have specific algorithms you would like to see implemented, please let us know.
Fixed Tenancy
Fixed tenancy campaigns, also known as guaranteed campaigns, are campaigns that are sold to advertisers for a fixed period of time. These campaigns will always be displayed in the slot, regardless of the algorithm used within your slot configuration.
If you would like to only show biddable and algorithmic content in your slot, you can disable fixed tenancy for that slot.
Summary
Most of the time, the default algorithm for a slot is to promote the highest bidding content. However, you can also choose from a variety of other algorithms to promote content for locations that require a different approach.
